Austria
A great majority of the world's wine drinkers have very little idea of what Austrian wine tastes like. Many assume that the wines from this country are very similar to wines from Germany. The wine growing regions of Austria are closer to the equator than most of Germany and the Austrian climate is more extreme - with colder winters and warmer, sunnier summers. These conditions create dry, full bodied wines which are very food-friendly and full of acidity and personality.
